#CaveToastToTen Anniversary Party

In April 2008 we opened our doors as a wine bar and restaurant tucked quietly inside our ever expanding retail store, the Ventura Wine Company! The word quickly spread and we grew to much more than the quiet little wine bar Nick Fisher imagined he would own. We became The Cave - Ventura's premier food and wine establishment. No other business in the try-counties has been able to replicate what we have done in the past 10-years, and no one probably ever will because it could be considered insanity.

Changing our small plates menu monthly creates a pop-up restaurant. Just as our talented chefs are mastering the menu items the month ends, and it is time to scratch and learn a new menu. Reflecting on the past 10 years of business, The Cave has produced 1428 menu items, and 120 new menus! And, that doesn't include our weekly specials and the various event and wine dinner menus we have served up. Add to this the 40-wines featured on the Enomatic Machines for your tasting enjoyment and we have offered 4800+ different wines by the glass - UNHEARD of! We know it isn't easy, but with a solid business plan, nurturing working environment and talented crew we have done this effortlessly for the past 10 years. Today, we are blessed to be working under the direction of Nicole Valdivia (Nick's daughter) to continue to grown and improve our services and what The Cave brand offers. Executive Chef Alex Montoya is managing the kitchen with not just culinary talent, but also a real connection with all of our dining guests. Restaurant Manager Kayla Pope is helping coordinate private dining reservations and parties and has assisted with several proposals and other special life events all while making sure our guests have an enjoyable time in The Cave. Retail Manager Zac Welch is introducing our customers to new wines all the time, and teaching fun and educational classes in The Cave, sharing his extense knowledge with you all. Zac will be testing for his Level 4 Master Sommelier accomplishment in two short weeks. All of our additional staff members bring a care and concern for our business as if it was their own. We are proud to know most of our customers by name and welcome you into our establishment as if it was our home.

The anniverary party will be similar to our annual tasting events, but bring new and exciting elements as well. The event will be held outside behind The Cave, with limited seating. It will feature a walk around tasting of both food and wine. The food items will represent a bite sized portion of the best menu items we had over the past 10 years, and introduce a few new items as well. The wines will be selected by the staff and showcase some of our favorites. There will be a heavy focus on Rose, alternative whites and alternative reds with a goal of introducing you to something new. Live entertainment with the Pier 101 Band, of which Warren is a member. Warren plays regularily in The Cave on Thursday and Friday nights. Interactive games like life-size Jenga and Corn Hole will be available to further enhance the social element of the event. We will have a blind tasting competition and Guess That Tasting Note competition with Zac with fun prizes. And, we will be offering a 10% discount on all retail purchases made that afternoon!

Tickets are $65 Per Person and the event is limited to adults only (21+). All ticket sales are final. $5 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Ventura Botanical Garden Foundation in support of their rebuilding efforts since the Thomas Fire, and in honor of Earth Day. VIP Tickets are reserved for our past investors (including Founding Members, Barrel Room Adoptees, and Equity Eats). VIP is also reseved for our Cave Box wine club members, currently the only way you may join the list. The wine club membership perks include early access and entery into our events in additional to several other instore perks. Should you join our club any time between today and the date of the event, you will be granted early VIP access. Wine club is three bottles of wine curated by our expert staff to your taste preference and selected for you either monthly, every other month, or quarterly. The membership prices are $45 for great value wines, or $90 for three bottles of something a little more special! We always offer free instore pick up, and ship too.
