2016 Dragonette Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills

This wine is fruit driven aromatics of grilled pineapple, lemon zest, white peach and orange blossom springing from the glass. On the palate, notes of honey, fresh ginger and tarragon mingle with weightier impressions of sourdough bread, salted caramel and agave nectar. The wine boasts a rich and polished mouthfeel with a generous streak of acidity that anchors a chiseled and precise finish.

Moving to the Chardonnays, the 2016 Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills is 100% varietal from a handful of top sites in the Sta. Rita Hills. It has classic orchard fruits, brioche, crushed rocks, and a distinct salinity as well as a medium-bodied, rich, rounded, beautifully textured profile.  (10/2018)

The 2016 Chardonnay (Sta. Rita Hills) is gorgeous. Ample, generous and inviting, the 2016 shows the richness that is typical of the appellation along with more tropical overtones that add layers of complexity. Hints of orange peel, mint and pineapple, along with soft contours, give the wine its distinctive racy personality. (AG)  (9/2018)

The 2016 Chardonnay from Dragonette offers up a honeyed, sun-kissed nose of peaches and yellow orchard fruit. On the palate, it's medium-bodied and richly textural—almost oily, with a generous core of baked fruit flavors but good underlying acidity and a pure, clean finish. There's a touch of sur maturité here, but it's an attractive, flavorful Chardonnay that I suspect is best adapted for near-term consumption. (WK) (4/2018)

Ripe apple, pear and dried apricot flavors show buttery accents in this white, with a spiced finish that's long and rich-tasting. (KM)  (9/2018)
